Piggy Backs or Truck mounted forklifts range from 3,000 lbs. to 8,000 lbs. capacity and they mainly use ITA/Hook type forks with a negative drop (long neck).

Negative drop fork

There is not a standard dimension of negative drop forks, the top hook position can vary for each truck model; therefore the working back height (h1) must be measured.

  • Class 2 Negative Drop
  • A negative drop fork has a standard dimension between hooks per ANSI B56.11.4, but the upper hook position (h1) is higher to create a longer drop between the bottom hook and the floor.

  • 1.25×4”: capacity per pair 4,000 lbs @ 24” load center
  • 1.5×4”: capacity per pair 5,000 lbs @ 24” load center

  • 2×2” (block fork): capacity per pair 4,000 lbs @ 24” load center
